Cloud Computing Certifications to Make Your Resume Dazzle

In the world of IT, cloud computing is growing exponentially as organizations strive to make remote and satellite workforces more efficient and more integrated. It’s no surprise then that having a cloud computing certification can be a resume changer for a prospective or existing IT team member

Whether the jobs you’re applying for are specifically in cloud computing or have cloud computing administration, development or security as an aspect of job duties, taking courses in this growing area can push you ahead of the pack in terms of your job search, getting calls for interviews and ultimately landing a great job.

Additionally, if you love working for your present employer, but would like to move up within the organization, bringing cloud computing certification to the mix can also change everything for the better (your organization may even have an education program where they pay partor all, of the investment). It’s up to you how you want to position your newly-earned skills and designation, but the key is to find the right cloud computing courses and certification that will propel you forward.

The Top 5 Cloud Computing Certifications

We’ve assembled a list of what we feel are the top 5 cloud computing courses. Of course, there’s some bias in this list as a few of the options are <<courses Ashton College offers>> through its continuing education, technology segment, but keep in mind we chose to deliver these certification courses in the first place because they are so well-recognized in the field. However, be sure to identify what your organization needs (or what the employers you would like to work for are looking for) before making an education investment.

  1. 1. AWS Certification.

Amazon has come a long way from being a book-seller and the fact that there are Amazon Web Services proves just how broad that growth has been. Offering more than 200 services, Amazon boasts millions of customers on its platform. Courses leading to AWS certification courses look at cloud defense through security and monitoring that make use of the integrated services and settings. Studies will include explorations of data protection, infrastructure, continuous monitoring, security tools and much more.

  1. 2. Azure Certification Basics.

There is definitely something to be said for having knowledge about Microsoft offerings and Microsoft Azure is filled with more than 200 products and cloud computing services that allow for new solutions for today’s computing challenges. The Azure basics course helps those in cloud computing explore the platform and its offerings and provides the information and skills to earn fundamentals certifications in Azure Administrator and Azure Security Engineer associate areas.

  1. 3. Azure Certification Advanced.

Those who want to grow more advanced in their Azure Administrator and Azure Security Engineer associate education will want to pursue these intermediate certifications. The interesting thing about Azure certification is that a person who is already familiar with the platform need not take the basics course in order to take the advanced course. Microsoft doesn’t require any prerequisites for a certification exam. Simply start at the level you think you’re ready for.

  1. 4. Google Certified Professional Cloud Architect.

Just as Amazon and Microsoft certifications are partially beneficial because of the brand reach, Google falls in the same category. Google Cloud technologies are growing in their acceptance and usage throughout IT and those who want to prove their skills in planning, designing, building and managing within this platform will benefit from this certification.

  1. 5. Certified Cloud Security Professional.

The biggest benefit of CCSP is that it isn’t platform specific. So, whether your organization is based in one of the above platforms or something else entirely, CCSP can be a great option. This is especially true for those who are seeking jobs but don’t know what their desired employer might be looking for. While all of this sounds ideal, keep in mind that CCSP does come with prerequisites: five years in IT with at least three in IS.

Earning a cloud certification can be a great way to enhance your resume, but do get to know which courses and designations are likely to move you in the right direction. Having the training and skills that line up with an employers needs is the best way to rocket you straight into an interview and hopefully your dream job.
